Hank the pony stands at the corner of Opal and Everts Street in the suburban neighborhood of Pacific Beach in San Diego City, Tuesday October 23, 2007. The horses and their owners, Thom and Amy Whidden-Winter came to Amy's mother's home in PB with their dogs (Listo and Muddy) after they were evacutated from Poway the day before due to the San Diego Wildfires burning in the area. Amy spent the night outside, sleeping on the cot in the background to keep an eye on her two beloved ponies....

Hank the pony stands at the corner of Opal and Everts Street in the suburban neighborhood of Pacific Beach in San Diego City, Tuesday October 23, 2007. The horses and their owners, Thom and Amy Whidden-Winter came to Amy's mother's home in PB with their dogs (Listo and Muddy) after they were evacutated from Poway the day before due to the San Diego Wildfires burning in the area. Amy spent the night outside, sleeping on the cot in the background to keep an eye on her two beloved ponies. Her daughter had returned to check on there home which has apparently survived the fire.
