Two ponies, Destiny and Hank stand in the shade of a tree at the corner of Opal and Everts Street in the suburban neighboorhood of Pacific Beach San Diego City, Tuesday October 23, 2007. The horses and their owners, Thom Winter and Amy Whidden-Winter brought their ponies and dogs (Listo and Muddy) to Amy's mother's home in PB after they were evacutated from Poway on Monday evening. Wildfires burning in the area near their home forced the evacuation. Amy spent the night outside, sleeping on the cot in the background to keep an eye on her two beloved ponies. Her daughter had returned to check on there home which has apparently survived the fires.
